WHAT IS BODY BURDEN?
Body burden is simply the build up of toxic chemicals in the body. We injest these chemicals in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, and even through our skin through things that touch our skin.
WHAT ARE THE TOP OFFENDERS?
There are many offenders but some of the biggest ones we come into contact wither are VOC's, Phthalates, PFC's, Heavy Metals, and POP's.
VOC's are found in things from paint to fragrances.
Phthalates are found in synthetic fragrances.
PFC's are found in non-stick coatings and stain repellents.
Heavy Metals are found in fish, seafood, lead-paints, and lead-pipes.
POP's are found in plastic bags and bleached paper plates.
WHAT DO I DO?
The best thing you can do is read your labels! Be aware of all the things that are no-no's.
Some other things we can do to protect ourselves is dust often, limit your consumption of seafood, avoid artificial fragrances, open your windows to let in fresh air, don't microwave plastic, and drink filtered water.
These tips are just a few of the tips and tricks that you can do to protect yourself and limit the amount of burden you put on your body.
